I must have missed detailed ragerding blog searching with Google however; it is important to be informed of.

Users of Google Blog Search can now execute searches for country specific content. Conducting a brief search, I found the following country specific tools.

Online Newspapers Vs. Hardcopy Newspapers

Fans of hardcopy newspapers cannot be too thrilled with the results from a study courtesy of the Poynter Institute, a Florida-based journalism school. The study revealed that “People who use the Internet to read the news have a greater attention span than print readers“.

I can imagine the thoughts that are running through the heads of newspaper publishers and advertisers. One, is it really necessary to publish broadsheet papers that are not holding readers’ attention and two, are print advertisements losing their effectiveness in offline versions of newspapers?

Both entities can deal their respective issues by increasing their presence on their web. The web can afford publishers the flexibility to format text with little effort and advertisers have the possibility to capture the attention of online readers with an effective online ad campaign.

With this being said, it will be very interesting to see how many newspapers will be taking the total leap online to abandon hardcopy versions
